Demister is a device for gas-liquid separation in tower equipment.It is widely used in petrochemical industry to separate the droplets entrained in the tower and to reduce the loss of valuable materials.At present there are many researches on demister,mainly aiming at the improvement on the structural element separation demister corrugated plate,improving the separation efficiency and reduce the pressure loss,the research methods mainly studying through experiment and numerical simulation.In this paper,a new structure of corrugated plate demister is designed.The structure of the demister is set up on the unit corrugated plate,so as to improve the efficiency of the demister and reduce the loss of pressure drop.By using computational fluid dynamics numerical simulation method,the continuous phase using RNG k-? model,the dispersed phase using the DPM model,with a liquid blocking hook structure and without liquid blocking hook structure of corrugated board in addition to the separation efficiency and pressure drop entrainment respectively,and the influence of corrugated plate series,plate spacing,turning angle and entrance velocity the separation efficiency and pressure drop.A comparative study of the liquid blocking hook corrugated plate structure and without liquid blocking hook corrugated plate structure in the separation efficiency and the pressure drop and entrainment.The results showed that the separating efficiency of the corrugated plate demister is much higher than that without the liquid blocking hook,especially the speed of more than 4m/s,the gap obviously.When the speed is lower than 8m/s,the pressure drop loss of the two kinds of corrugated plate demister is similar,but the pressure drop is larger than that of the non blocking liquid corrugated plate demister when it is larger than 8m/s,,so whether the separation efficiency or the pressure drop,liquid blocking hook corrugated plate demister obviously better than without liquid blocking hook corrugated plate demister.Through numerical simulation,analysis of the entrance velocity and corrugated plate spacing,turning angle,series and so on,demister separation efficiency and pressure drop of the results showed that the higher separation efficiency with the air entrance speed increases,decreases with the increase of corrugated plate spacing;plate spacing is wider,the separation efficiency decreased more obvious.Corrugated plate plates with different spacing demister pressure loss with the increase of entrance velocity.As the turning angle increases,the separation efficiency and pressure drop loss are reduced,which is more suitable when compared with the angle of 90 degrees.Corrugated plate series is more,the separation efficiency is higher,the great difference in low speed,4 corrugated plate demister separation efficiency at low speed has reached about 95%,and the pressure loss is small compared,selected 3-4 corrugated plate is more appropriate.In order to get a new formula of demister separation efficiency,the improved dimensional analysis method to derive the dimensionless number relationship,in order to determine the unknown parameters of dimensionless numbers in the relationship,by changing the plate spacing,turning angle,entrance velocity series and to change the dimensionless number of total 40 model groups,corrugated board on 40 groups of different number the demister was simulated by numerical simulation method,the simulation results of 40 groups of separation efficiency,using the OriginPro curve fitting of the data,obtained the formula of the separation efficiency of the demister model,compared with the numerical results using the calculation formula and the results,results showed that the calculation formula is accurate.Finally,the trajectory of droplets in a new demister was studied,found the liquid blocking hook location is not in the main trajectory of the droplet movement,can also further optimize the position of liquid blocking hook adjustment of the corrugated plate,so as far as possible in the trajectory of droplets on the liquid blocking effect is more obvious,a design optimization of demister structure by numerical simulation show that the optimal liquid blocking hook position removal after the separation efficiency of entrainment than the original liquid blocking hook position except the separation efficiency of entrainment have different degrees of increase,especially in the entrance of the lower velocity is enhanced by about 50%,and the pressure loss is smaller.
