With the improvement of highway construction,the relevant highway inspection and maintenance work has become an important task in highway management.There are time-consuming,high cost and dangerous problems in the current method of manually detecting road cracks.In this paper,a method based on digital image processing is proposed to detect road cracks,which can identify the crack information more quickly and accurately.In this paper,the detection data from the Mobile Road Survey System(MMS)collected by the road image,it is a conventional speed in the road while driving with the roof set up the camera to collect road pavement can measure the three-dimensional image information.This paper focuses on the research of road surface crack detection and classification based on MMS image.First of all,the MMS images collected by the hardware equipment,uneven lighting and pavement shadows and other factors,increasing the complexity of image processing.Therefore,this paper analyzed the ideal image preprocessing steps and methods by contrast analysis: the image gray scale is adopted by weighted average method.The improved image filtering algorithm is used to reduce the computational complexity.Based on image saturation Degree and illumination scale factor to eliminate image shadow interference;and to ensure that the details of the crack is not destroyed by the rough set theory algorithm to enhance the image.Secondly,the two classic image segmentation algorithms are analyzed.Aiming at the limitation of single image segmentation algorithm in detecting cracks,this paper proposes a method of image segmentation based on fusion threshold method and mathematical morphology method,according to the characteristics of each MMS image using the maximum interclass variance find the adaptive threshold of each image,and combined with a variety of direction of the structural elements based on the mathematical morphology algorithm to achieve the split of road cracks.In addition,an algorithm based on morphological growth is used to edge the fractures in the segmentation results to fill the lower gray areas that are not extracted in the cracks.Finally,based on the results of pavement crack detection,the characteristics of pavement cracks are described and classified,and the damage situation of pavement is analyzed and evaluated according to the relevant standard.According to the research and experimental verification,the method of detecting the crack in the digital image of MMS image proposed in this paper can improve the detection speed of pavement crack(to optimize the algorithm)to a certain extent while ensuring the accuracy of detection.This has a positive effect on the further realization of pavement cracks detection automation and real-time,and improves the intelligent level of highway maintenance work.
