The quantitative study of human movement behavior, including the time and space characteristics,is very important in understanding many interaction phenomenon generated by the crowd, and in prediction, spatial information recommendation and other fields. In recent years, the rise of big data technology and urban public information management system makes it possible to obtain large scale behavior data.In this paper, the temporal and spatial characteristics of passenger travel are defined and quantitatively studied by using the data of Chengdu rapid transit smart card. The results show that there is heterogeneity in the time and space scale of bus trips. In terms of time scale, passengers travel shows obvious daily morning and evening peak phenomenon, weekend travel volume is less than the number of working days,at the same time, morning and evening peak phenomenon has become less obvious,90%passengers in transit travel time is not more than 30 minutes,The passenger's continuous trip occurs in 1.5 hours or so short time, from 8.5 to 13.5 hours of commuting travel and to the order of the decline of the cycle of 24 hours. In terms of space scale, the majority of passengers travel has obvious spatial preferences, some sites are visited many times, while there are very sparse site visits. For the same site, the frequency of pull-in and pull-out are often asymmetric. Most passengers, who are subject to physical constraints, access only a few sites in the system. While the passenger travel distance distribution, neither obeys the exponential distribution, nor obeys the power function distribution, but shows several discrete peaks, this may be related to the distance between the site and the distribution of a single line.Regression of the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of rapid transit time analysis shows that the entropy and passenger absolute travel time difference positive correlation exists. The spatial entropy increases with the increase of the number of passengers visiting the site, and decreases with the increase of passenger travel frequency. The spatial and temporal distribution of the entropy shows that the passenger travel is more restricted in space scale, with strong randomness and discreteness in time scale. The time entropy and the spatial entropy have different effects on the time of the first pull-in time, travel frequency and the number of visits to the passengers.
