Highway tunnel construction safety and management problems arouse people’s more and more attention. How to evaluate and control the various risks in the process of highway tunnel construction, has become an urgent problem to be solved in the theoretical and engineering fields, in order to ensure the safety, economy and high efficiency of highway tunnel construction. It is of great social significance to evaluate and manage the safety risk of highway tunnel construction, and to make reliable prediction and evaluation of construction safety risk.On the basis of extensive review of the literature, this paper, combined with the risk management theory and engineering examples, summarizes the research status of tunnel construction safety management at home and abroad, simulates the deformation characteristics of tunnel excavation process by 3D software. Then, it identifies tunnel construction safety risk source and builds risk evaluation index system. Using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method gain tunnel construction safety risk levels, in order to intuitively grasp the impact of risk factors on tunnel construction safety risks. Starting from the engineering practice, it explores the highway tunnel construction safety management system and risk management measures,and realizes the effective control of the safety risk of tunnel construction. With practical examples, designing advanced geological forecasting and engineering site safety monitoring system contrasted engineering measured data and theoretical data, the tunnel construction safety risk control has achieved good results and has reference significance for similar projects. It provides reference for the fine construction of highway tunnels.
