With the rapid development of general aviation industry, air resources are increasingly scarce.General aviation aircraft will fly more frequently in terminal area of the busy airport. The controller is bound to face new challenges. Therefore,it has an important practical significance to evaluate air traffic controllers' workload in the transport-general airspace.According to practical experience, this paper analyzes the main points and difficulties in air traffic controllers' work during the whole flight stage of the general aircraft. This paper summarizes the history data of the Chengdu Shuangliu airport movements.Influence of airport movements is analyzed by a linear regression method, while general aviation aircraft through the terminal area. The job duties and coordinate of controller and assistant controller are analyzed.Use task-based workload evaluation method, the controller's workload is divided by the content of work.A mathematical model is established for the workload evaluation of controller and assistant controller. The workload weight statistical method is introduced simultaneously.Take the Chengdu approach controller as an example,a simulator experiment is done to evaluate controllers' workload and capacity of sector under different scenarios. The general and civil aviation aircraft are used as independent variables and the workload of controller and controller assistant are used as dependent variable.Use the method of multiple linear regression analysis,a mathematical expression between controllers' workload and aircraft sorties in sector is set up.This paper develops a computer program which could help air traffic control department to evaluate controllers' workload.Research indicates that general aviation aircraft flying in terminal area will increase the controllers' workload and reduce the operating efficiency.
