With the rapid development of railway passenger cars,lightweight of vehicle has become an important issue in the design of railway passenger cars.Especially with the increase of train speed,the demand for lightweight of vehicle is more urgent.Significances of lightweight of vehicle are improving running speed of the train and save energy,reducing the manufacturing cost of the vehicle,improving vehicle launch acceleration and braking deceleration,reducing the impact of the vehicles on the line and line maintenance workload.This paper introduces the development situation and researches direction of the lightweight of the vehicle at home and abroad and expounds the necessity of the lightweight of the car body.Taking the 25T seat coach as an example,three kinds schemes of lightweight were given and contrasted which provides engineering reference value for the lightweight method of carbon steel body.25T seat coach original carbody FE-Model was established.Strength stiffness modal and stability of carbody were calculated.By using Optistruct software,carbody steel structure size was optimized.Thickness of parts was design variables.Strength stiffness modal and stability of carbody were performance constraints.Then with upper and lower bounds of the design variables were boundary constraint and according 7 kinds of static strength condition and rigidity and mode and stability,25T seat coach original carbody structure was calculated.According to the results of the calculation of strength,thickness of parts with exceeding strength and stiffness needed was adjusted.Combining with the actual production level and the corrosion resistance of the plate,determined the final thickness of the part.This is the first scheme.The second scheme was based on the first scheme.Side sill section was changed to pressure parts.Lightening holes were opened on the beam.Spare parts of body strength were cancelled.The third scheme was based on the second scheme.Middle roof sheathing was changed from plate to corrugated plate.Carline section and interval became small.Longitudinal sills were cancelled.According to the finite element analysis resort,three kinds of lightening carbody schemes were compared with original carbody,and the fatigue strength of the car body was analyzed.Considering vehicle lightweight,the third scheme is better than the second.Considering manufacturing cost,the second scheme is better.So choosing what kind of lightweight scheme need consider the coefficient of value project and specific circumstances.Carbody steel structure finite element analysis results shows that 25T seat coach has lightweight spaces in terms of strength and stiffness and mode and stability.Compared to 25T original car body steel structure,the weight of the first schemeand the second scheme and the fhird scheme were respectively deduced 1480kg,1856kg,2348kg,In this paper,the method and scheme of lightweight of carbody can provide the theoretical basis and reference for the lightweight of carbon steel carbody.
