As an important protection device of power system,relay protection system should have some rapidity,sensitivity,selectivity and reliability.The reliability of relay protection system is an important factor to maintain the reliability of the whole power system.Based on the analysis of the status of relay protection system in China and abroad,this paper analyzes the status of relay protection equipment.The main research results are as follows:First,the relevant components of relay protection system,the related model and theory of the state maintenance,the influence factors of the failure of relay protection system are described.Second,using the fault tree analysis method to determine the cause of the system failure of the various possible combinations,making the reliability model more accurate.On the basis of analyzing the relay protection status,a relay protection model considering the effect of backup protection is established,and the various failure states of the main backup protection are analyzed by using Markoff model.relay protection model is established based on the analysis of relay protection,and the protective effect of the backup protection is established.The main backup protection is calculated by using Markoff model.The main backup protection is calculated.Finally,with the development of on-line monitoring technology of relay protection,two cases were analyzed for online monitoring technology application of relay protection equipment,the online monitoring technology of relay protection equipment can improve the accuracy and reliability of condition based maintenance of relay protection equipment.
