Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,China’s rapid development in the automotive industry,the clutch function has improved a lot.In particular,the wet multi disc clutch has the advantages of high transmission power,high reliability and simple structure,and is widely used in practice,such as vehicles,ships and construction machinery.The wet multi disc clutch is used as a transmission component to achieve the purpose of transmitting power through the friction between the friction plate and the dual steel plate.Due to the large difference of the speed between the friction plate and the dual steel plate in the combination,it will produce a large amount of friction heat on the surface of the friction plate and the dual steel plate.The temperature field,thermal stress and thermal strain will change when the friction heat of the friction plate and the dual steel sheet is diffused into the interior.If the friction heat is not timely lost,it will make temperature rise faster.This will lead to thermal failure of friction plate and steel plate and will affect the ability of the whole clutch.So,thermal-structural coupling simulation study on friction pair of wet multi-plate clutch is very important to solve the problem of the thermal failure and it has considerable theoretical significance and practical value.According to the actual size of a wet multi disc clutch,the three-dimensional model is drawn,and the model is simplified properly.Based on the mathematical model of friction heat generation and friction heat distribution,the finite element model of friction plate and dual steel sheet is established.The model is solved by applying boundary conditions.The temperature field,thermal stress and strain field of friction plate and dual steel sheet at different time are obtained.We can see its changing law intuitively.According to ABAQUS software to simulate the engagement process of the friction pair,it obtains the cloud chart of temperature field and stress field and strain field in different time.So,it can observe the magnitude of the temperature,stress and strain in different parts.And it can easily find the parts of thermal failure.According to the simulation analysis,we can find the friction plate’ twelve contact parts are symmetrical distribution.These regularities of distribution are barely identical.Then,use MATLAB software to optimize the fiction pair and its aim makes the friction heat is smallest in the engagement process of wet multi-plate clutch and obtain the data of the friction pair.Finally,we use ABAQUS software to simulate the engagement process of the friction pair again,and we can observe the decrease of the magnitude of the temperature,stress and strain.So,it can justify that the optimal structure is more reasonable.In this paper,we use thermal-structural coupling simulation method to analyze the temperature of the engagement process of the friction pair.It has a guiding role to solve thermal failure of clutch due to high friction temperature,shorten the service life and the operation process of the ride comfort problem.It has high theoretical significance and application value for the development and application of friction pair of the wet multi-plate clutch.
