The base isolation technology can effectively reduce the seismic energy incoming superstructure and reduce the damage of the superstructure.But the base isolation energy-consuming devices are mostly ductile components,which horizontal stiffness is small,so the horizontal shift is large under earthquake,which may lead to pongding between the substrate isolation structure and the surrounding retaining wall or limit baffle and so on.Therefore,it is important to study the effect of collision on structural response and to ensure the seismic safety of the structure.As Japan is an earthquake-prone country,the design of seismic design theory is earlier than that of China.So Japan's seismic design theory system is relatively perfect,and its seismic design code about isolation design is also worthy of reference for China.Therefore,it is necessary to compare the structural response of the isolated structure under the earthquake specified by the two countries' seismic design codes and find out the difference.In this paper,the base isolated structure is studied as the object.The study was carried out as following aspects:?.Exhaustive introducing the existing structural ponding research methods of and the commonly used collision analysis model.Comparing the similarities and differences of various analytical methods,and introducing the finite element software used in this paper.?.Describing the establishment of the ponding motion equation.Based on the engineering example,establishing the finite element model of the rubber bearings base isolation structure and the friction base isolation structure.Studing the influence of the ponding between the isolation layer and the surrounding structure under strong earthquake.By delimiting the impact index of the collision,the influence of the direction of the earthquake action,the type of the isolation bearing and the height of the building on the ponding response of the base isolation structure were studied,and have got some conclusions.III.Based on the engineering example,establishing the finite element model of the rubber bearings base isolation structure.Two recorded ground motions and three artificial ground motions was choosen.Based on the Chinese and Japanese seismic design specifications modulate the amplitude the selected ground motion.Through comparative analysis of the earthquake response of isolated building under medium and high level earthquake set by seismic design codes in China and Japan,in particular,the maximum horizontal deformation of isolators,the maximum story displacement angle,the maximum story shear,the maximum absolute acceleration at top node,and the limit of seismic design codes in China and Japan,hope for providing some reference for establishing seismic design codes in China.
