The rapid development of the modern city is also witnessing the declining state of traditional village groups and historic architectures.As the beginning of city formation and the representative of traditional village groups,the Historic Conservation Area boast both the historic traits and the cultural genes of that specific area.Therefore,on the way to the planning and construction of the new-type urbanization,it is our obligation to harmonize the city of its past and the present.This thesis,selecting the Tunxi Old Street(the center of the Huangshan City)and its adjacent area as the subjects,selecting the preservation of the physical appearance of the antique buildings and the spatial development as the main line,utilizes related theories,technologies and methods to analyze the physical features of the streets,the spatial relations of the districts,and the distribution of the functional format,and than further proposes constructive strategies and suggestions.Firstly,with GIS,the author establishes the spatial database for the areas around the Tunxi Old Street.Then the author uses it to conduct the spatial analysis and generate the map of the whole architectural townscape,architectural facade style,store format category and the additional exterior part of the building.It is confirmed that the protection of overall style of the Old Street is better,but the traditional format is poor,and the degree of classification is serious.In the study of architectural facade style,the author relies on the method of the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and the expert evaluating method,which come to conclusion that architectural style is simple in the west of the intersection of the main street and Shang Road and Zhong Road,but exquisite near the Xia Road,which may have a higher degree of transformation.Secondly,speaking of all scientific methods applied,the author uses the space syntax to analyze the correlation of the Old Street and its nearby districts,the Axis method to analyze the spatial characteristics,functional format and the traffic distribution,which confirmed that there is a positive correlation between the accessibility of the street and the diversification of the category.And than the author use the visibility to analyze the characteristics of space important node and the format distribution due to the spatial visibility,which also corroborated that there is a positive correlation between visibility and diversification.At last,the author,from the core,meso and macro level of street,proposes optimize and update strategy to the street style protection,the surrounding space update and their collaborative optimization.Its embodies that the protection of street space texture and style,classification and construction control of the surrounding area space,the overall coordination and optimization of construction style,darning function formats,important historic development,road traffic optimization management etc.This thesis,with the subject of the Tunxi Old Street and its adjacent area,complying with principles of the historic authenticity,scenic integrity and continuity of life,conducts the quantitative analysis for the physical space form and the nonphysical space form,gives objective and accurate judgement of the present problems and situations,and finally brings forward practical and conducive suggestions.Thereby,the author holds very sincere hope that this thesis will provide research basis and referent value for the future preservation and development of Tunxi Old Street and other Historic Conservation Area as well.
