China Railway No.9 Group Co.,Ltd.(Hereafter referred to as China Railway No.9)is a wholly owned subsidiaries of world’s double 500(World’s 500 Most Influential Brands and Fortune Global 500)--China Railway Group Limited.Its headquarter locates in Shenyang,which is a multi-functional and large-scale business conglomerate that encompasses design,research and development,real estate,overall contract of machining and construction.The main business of China Railway No.9 is railway engineering construction,the output of which accounts for 86.45%of the gross output in 2010.Since the end of 2008.China has invested four trillion yuan to boost investment in infrastructure especially railway engineering to counter the global financial crisis.Signified by the investment and operation of high-speed railway of Beijing-tianjin-tanggu inter-city and Wuhan-guangzhou,China’s high-speed railway has led and boosted the new development of world railway.,which brings a blue moon development opportunity for construction enterprises.With increasing burdensome construction task,the railway engineering enterprises are commonly facing great pressure in aspects of schedule and cost management.Due to many uncertain factors in different stages,the decision makers always think independently about the schedule of cost in organization and management,especially under the circumstance of fixed deadline or emergency.They may increase investment in various kinds of resources at their will to complete the schedule without caring the cost.Till the project is completed on due.they have not realized the economic interest as expected.Therefore,to focus on integrated management for schedule and cost of the railway engineering construction becomes the way to enhance the managing and control capability and to realize the expected target for the projects.This thesis is based on the theory of integrated management for project schedule and cost and combining with current situation of schedule and cost management of a railway engineering project in China Railway No.9,analyzing in earned value method to explore the way of integrated management for railway engineering schedule and cost.This thesis firstly analyzes the current situation of development and research for integrated management,and integrated management of project schedule and cost and points out its significance for integrated management of project.On the basis of thoroughly analysis of project schedule and cost management,this thesis forms the countermeasures at preliminary level.
