Since the second half of 2014,China's economy has entered a new normal,during which China has to deal simultaneously with the slowdown in economic growth,making difficult structural adjustments,and absorbing the effects of previous economic stimulus policies.Especially in the fourth quarter of 2014,international crude oil price suffered a cliff-like drop,and many engineering companies of domestic petrochemical industry encountered the most severe living environment,external expression of which was sharp decrease in investment project,drastic reduction in investment fund,production reduction or shut down of manufacturing company;internal expression of which was that engineering company had no project,business benefits declined significantly and employee benefit reduced remarkably.Besides,the competition between engineering companies became more intense,and some companies even used bad ways for a project,like vicious tender and low-price tender,resulting in a serious reduction in project quality and frequent occurrence of safety accidents,even more serious was that people's life safety cannot be guaranteed.Therefore,how to seek breakthroughs under the new normal becomes a major problem of many engineering companies,which shall be solved imminently.As an engineering company of petrochemical system,W engages in design,purchase and construction of chemical engineering,thermoelectric and other projects of petrochemical system.It has significant influence on petrochemical system,particularly cogeneration projects,which accounts for over 95% of total projects in petrochemical system and accounts for more than 35% of the company's operating income.In this thesis,the author conducted research on design optimization of W's cogeneration projects from three aspects of design management,design quality and design costs;through design optimization,improving design quality,reducing total investment and reducing project costs under security assurance,the company finally stood out in a strong competition.The specific research content was as follows: firstly,the author elaborated research background,content,significance,arrangement and structure of this thesis;secondly,the author studied and analyzed the new normal,cogeneration projects and current status of domestic engineering companies under the new normal,which laid the foundation for the following parts;thirdly,the author proposed ideas to seek development under the new normal through internal important reform—design optimization;fourthly,the author analyzed design optimization from several aspects and conducted contrastive analysis on the project after design optimization and the previous projects;Finally,the author made a summary and pointed out the research results and shortcomings.The results of design optimization summarized in this thesis can also be applied to other types of projects and can be used as reference for domestic engineering companies under the new normal;although there are still many shortcomings,the author hoped that it can provide companies with some help in this fast changing time.
