In the 21 st century,we have entered an era of information explosion.With the rapid development of economy and the continuous progress of science and technology,people’s life style and concept have changed dramatically,and the demand for the intelligentization of residence and household appliances is also growing.Not only are people concerned for the location and space of the traditional residence,they are also paying more attention to the intelligentization,comfortbility,efficiency and convenience of the living environment.As a fundamental power supply accessory,the socket connected with power plugs of various household appliances can be seen everywhere in people’s daily life.Because of the universality and necessity of the traditional socket,the intelligent control function of household appliances,through the intelligent transformation for traditional socket,can be realized without changing the structure of household appliances.This paper has done some researches about the smart socket in intelligent home system.First of all,we analyze the development of intelligent home system,domestic and international standards and research significance,and then systematically elaborate the research significance and research status of the smart socket.Meanwhile,the CRD5490-Z hardware platform based on the electrical quantity detection chip CS5490 and the MSP-EXP430FR5739 FRAM hardware platform based on the WI-FI chip CC3000 have been expounded systematically.Through the analysis of the function of the designed smart socket,we divide the overall function of the smart socket into several sub-modules,such as micro control unit module,electrical quantity detection module etc.and furthermore realize hardware design of smart socket.Based on the above analysis,the paper realizes the software design of smart socket,which mainly includes overall software design structure,module initialization,the software designs of CS5490 module and CC3000 module to implement electrical quantities collection of household appliances and interactive communication between PC(Personal Computer)and development board.Finally,the data transmitting and receiving in WI-FI wireless network environment can not work without the antenna.Moreover,the smart socket,due to the limitation of its size,also proposes higher requirement for antenna size.Therefore,a novel dual-band microstrip antenna design method has been proposed in this paper.The proposed design method can be used to realize antenna design with small size.In addition,the microstrip antenna can achieve better reflected coefficient than conventional antennas.The simulated and measured results show good Circular Polarization(CP)radiation performances at the two operational frequencies of dual-band antenna.Due to its miniaturization and portability,the proposed dual-band antenna design is suitable for small equipments,such as smart sockets,vehicle navigation systems and handheld devices etc.
