Axial/radial telescopic tire building drum is the key mechanism to produce aircraft tire and other spherical tires.Based on the demands of independent innovation of Chinese aircraft tire buildings,and aiming at an three-layer axial radial telescopic tire building drum designed by Wyko corporation,a research had been made.Firstly the kinematic and static feather of this mechanism had been analyzed.Secondly dimensional synthesis was carried out based on static indicator.At last virtual prototype was constructed to simulate.The main contents of this paper are as followings.(1)Its structure was divided into two parts,guiding mechanism of inner and outer drum shoulder,and then the kinematic model of this mechanism was established by the vector method.Relative movement of drum shoulders was studied in three different directions.The results show: to avoid interference of drum shoulders,the process of contraction can be divided into two parts,and the impact load in radial direction is very large at the last of contraction.(2)The structure was divided into two parts,guiding mechanism of inner and outer drum shoulders,according to its telescopic moving feature.The Static model of this mechanism was established by vector method,and the force Jacobian Matrix was also given.The dimensionless analysis of force was acquired by offering MATLAB a set of structural parameters.The results show: The slave linkage is the main component to supply axial supporting force,and when only outer drum shoulder is exerted on radial force,the supporting force will increase with the angle of main linkage becoming smaller.(3)based on the results of static analysis,choosing independent variables,in the prerequisites of magnification ratio,avoiding interference of drum shoulders and nuts,substructure method was used to have dimensional synthesis of each part respectively.The profile of grooved cam can be drawn when knowing the length of each linkage.(4)virtual prototype was established by SOLIDWORKS,and simulating its moving process to verify the correctness of static model.
