Camshaft is one of the important parts of the valve mechanism of internal combustion engine. Camshaft is a gas distribution mechanism in the important and key parts, which determines the valve lift curve and valve switch time, which directly affects the engine into the exhaust, influence on the engine power, economy and emissions.The camshaft has been attached great importance in the process of product design and parts processing. Part of the production process is reasonable, will be directly related to the production of qualified products. The design of cam shaft power, the engine running comfort and torque output is directly related to. So research on the camshaft can make more reasonable feed, fuel consumption and waste reduction, to obtain a more adequate driving force, and can improve the service life of the camshaft, it has better economic and dynamic.For steel parts camshaft must not only process of machining parts, on the heat treatment process of the camshaft also very high, because the heat treatment research is has a decisive influence on the service life of the cam shaft, this paper actual production, to the service life of the 50# steel material of the cam shaft and reduce the rejection rate, for the production of parts in the machining process technology and heat treatment process of hardness, crack failure forms. From the aspect of technology to investigate and analysis.Ultimately achieve the optimal production and processing technology.
