Site Memory Rebuilding In Community Park

2015 is the 70th anniversary of the victory of the world anti-fascist as well as the Chinese War of Resistance Against Japan. The Sate Council put forward the theme "remember history, cherish the memory of martyrs, cherish peace and create the future" for this commemoration. Huoshan Park, as the community park in Shanghai Tilanqiao historical and cultural protection district, has close relationship with anti-fascist------It was the shelter of Jewish refugees during WWII. In the past Huoshan park, the Jewish people and Shanghai citizens helped with each other to get through the hard times. Thus, it has important significance to the 70th anniversary of the world anti-fascist.Based on the memory of place as the platform, the author take the example of Huoshan community park, which is located in Shanghai Tilanqiao historical and cultural protection district. According to the place memory design process, namely investigation and detection, screening and retention, landscape performance and acceptance and respond, the memorized shape, memorized path, memorized space sequence and other related landscape design in Huoshan park are designed from the shallower to the deeper(the symbol layer, a space layer, and artistic conception layer, emotional memory layer). The functions of areas are designed according to the linear path of memory. In the landscape design of each area, park entrance, memorial plaza, music lawn and children's playground are designed through the method of elements refining, function reduction and artistic conception construction. Through the renovation, Huoshan park will be a park have both memory function and daily community function, which will eventually have the enlightenment to community parks design and let people have a better chance to experience their local community culture.
