Traditional Lacquer And Its Application In Interior Design

This paper starts from the origin and development status of traditional lacquer, elaborates the inherent tension between traditional lacquer's old forms and new times, which is incompatible in contemporary social life. With the invention of new technologies and new materials, the traditional lacquer paints, embryo material, process techniques have changed. Therefore, taking the contemporary interior space as carrier, discuss how the traditional lacquer plays the role in the contemporary interior design and the traditional lacquer from four perspectives respectively, the aesthetic function, humane care, environmental awareness, affordability. Whereby the application study on traditional lacquer can be summarized on these four aspects:indoor furniture, practical utensils, ornamental arts, space construction.This paper mainly studies in the following ways:Firstly, intuitive feeling, getting to know the traditional lacquer history, culture, and fusion of modern design conversion by document analysis and field visits; Secondly, instance analysis, discussing the application of traditional lacquer in interior design by instance analysis. It follows that conclusion: nowadays, world develops with diversified culture, which demands Chinese modern design inherit the beneficial elements of traditional culture and national culture, so that the national design culture can develop. At the same time, innovation develops based on the traditional culture; avoid developing in the way as "water without a source and a tree without roots". Contemporary design needs to reflect the national culture, while traditional lacquer needs to reflect the times, the traditional lacquer should have an open mind on contemporary life, combining with the modern design ideas and characteristics of the era. In the Contemporary interior space, Catering to the public's aesthetic demand and shape a comfortable lacquer art space filled emotional concern. Finding out a way to develop the traditional lacquer which can be suitable for contemporary life and without losing tradition essence, also enrich and develop the contemporary interior design of the artistic language forms.
