The measurement of steady state is an integral part of the performance test in a compressor. However, due to the lack of corresponding theoretical basis, the choice of test layout is mainly based on prior experience. To resolve this problem, this article mainly studied the mechanism about how probe struts impact on the aerodynamic performance of the compressor and the effect of outlet measuring layout on the accuracy of test results.Firstly, effects of the probe strut diameter, axial position and circumferential position on a 1.5-stage compressor were studied with steady and unsteady numerical simulations. The results showed that the inlet guide vanes can weaken the influence of probe struts on the compressor performance by commutating the wakes of the probe struts. The importance level of these factors can be ordered from large to small in the order of the probe strut diameter, strut shape, axial positionand circumferential position.And then a single-stage compressor without the inlet guide vane was studied. Flow fields of that compressor with or without the inlet probe strut were numerically studied for comparison. It could be seen that the performance of the compressor was significantly decreased due to the wake of the probe strut. When traveling downstream, the wake results in an increase of flow separation on thesuction surface of the rotor and the stator. The non-uniformity at the outlet of the compressor was also found to be increased.Finally, the outlet parameter's distributions both under uniform and distortion import conditions were studied in this article. Besides, effects of the probe layout and data analysis on the accuracy of test results were included. It could be found that the accuracy of test results mainly depends on the data processing method in terms of total temperature and total pressure near the endwall.
