Helicopter flight simulator has been important equipment in helicopter research and pilot training because of the advantages of low cost, safety and reliability, functional flexibility, wide applicability and strong practicability. As the core of the simulator, helicopter flight dynamics simulation system directly determines the extent of coverage of the simulator qualification level and flight training courses. In this paper, flight mechanic model for total system of a certain civilian helicopter was established. The flight simulation system with clear structure and convenient maintenance was designed based on this model. The simulation function of helicopter flight trainer was achieved.First of all, a cabin simulation combined with the hardware equipment requirements of flight simulation system was built. A general scheme of flight simulation system according to the functional requirements of training software system was put forward.Secondly, a fully coupled helicopter flight dynamics simulation model was established. The model include the dynamic equation of the WGS84 ellipsoid model, the coupling model of rotor,engine and transmission system, the dynamic model of fuselage, vertical fin and horizontal tail,landing gear model, environment model and gravity model.Thirdly, the helicopter flight simulation system and the instructor station applications were developed based on MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class) development platform. Then the design,configuration and drive of the visual system were conducted based on Mantis. The software system and the simulation cabin were synthesized to achieve the function of flight simulation training device by configuring the operating environment of the trainer and software system integration and alignment.Finally, the entire system simulation experiments were implemented through a series of human in the loop flight simulation. The results showed that the helicopter flight training device runs well and the modeling method is feasible. The simulation model was of good real-time performance, and it can reflect the helicopter flight characteristics with high simulation degree, the hardware and software system of training device has perfect software function and high reliability.
