China has a vast territory, we have the largest plateau region in the world, and climate conditions will be changed with the increase of altitude. The technical level of plateau highway is low, and the road conditions are poor, at the same time, due to the restrictions of geographical conditions, the elevation drop of the road will be very large and plateau highway will often appear long uphill and long downhill road conditions. Therefore, due to climate condition and road condition, the performance of the vehicle in the plateau region will be significantly reduced.In this paper, a research on the shift strategy of AMT vehicle based on the plateau climate environment and the shift control strategy based on the plateau road conditions are carried out, the purpose is to make the AMT cars adapt to the complex driving environment and to improve the dynamic performance and safety of AMT cars in plateau area. The main contents of this paper include:(1)The engine model is established by using GT-Power, through this model, the steady state data of the engine in plateau area is obtained. Then establish the vehicle model by using MATLAB/Simulink to lay the foundation for the formulation of the AMT vehicle shift schedule in the plateau area.(2)The theoretical basis and classification of the traditional shift schedule are introduced, and optimal power shift schedule and optimal fuel economy shift schedule are formulated for the research vehicle.(3)This paper discusses the environmental conditions of the vehicle in the plateau climate, and then analyzes the influence of the change of the environmental conditions on the performance of the engine and the vehicle. Finally, analyze the vehicle's performance and economy in the vehicle model. Simulation analysis shows that, when selecting the optimal power shift schedule and optimal fuel economy shift schedule, the power and economy of the vehicle will be reduced in different degrees. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the special shift strategy for the plateau climate to improve the performance of the vehicle driving on the plateau.(4)In the plateau area, the performance of the vehicle will be affected by the special weather and road conditions, the shift strategy formulation method based on different altitudes and road conditions is proposed in this paper. In the end, the proposed strategy is verified.
