Hydraulic excavator has been widely used in industrial construction, civil construction, transportation and mining construction. As the main model of engineering machinery, medium-sized hydraulic excavator has greatly increased the efficiency of engineering. The excavator industry in our country has not a long history,traditional design method of hydraulic excavator lead to the product design cycle need a very long time, high cost, design means backward,leading to the products lack of market competition, many domestic manufacturers of excavator stay in the stage of surveying and mapping,it has seriously hampered the development of China excavator industry.In this paper,we mainly study the medium-sized crawler backhoe hydraulic excavator. I collect a lot of information about the hydraulic excavator, and to find the regulation of excavator working device parameters, it will be provide a reference to the design of excavator.The main research content is as follows:Firstly, introduce the research and development of hydraulic excavator industry,and describe the overall structure of the hydraulic excavator, working principle and working conditions, mainly introduce the structure of the working equipment, and its geometry and motion regulation.Secondly, through to collect the major size parameters of medium-sized caterpillar backhoe hydraulic excavator which operating weight between 20~40t,there is a certain relationship between the size parameter and the operating weight of the hydraulic excavator. Using MATLAB software for curve fitting,and then draw the corresponding linear function equation, the results can be used for the design of the excavator product, and it provide a very important reference for the designer.Thirdly, according to the regulation of the parameters of hydraulic excavator, using Pro/E software comes with the secondary development toolPro/Program, through use of Pro/Program to complete data reception,conversion and pass the user input parameters, and then build a medium-sizedcaterpillar backhoe hydraulic excavator working equipment parametric model,and assembly.Finally, get the model that has been assembled into the ADAMS software for further simulation of kinematics and dynamics. By adjusting each hydraulic cylinder's movement, finish the drawing of excavation envelope and get the excavator specific scope of operation parameters, compare with the actual parameter, further to verify the feasibility of parameters research. Simulate the normal working conditions of hydraulic excavator mining, and then analyses the force situation of the main components hinge point, and further verify the accuracy of the simulation.
