Intelligent and convenient non-destructive inspection technology plays a crucial role in assuring equipment security, reducing maintenance cost and preventing accident in advance. Infrared thermography technology has advantages of high-speed, visual-result, non-contact and large inspection area, it is widely used in electric power, aerospace, automobile, petrochemical and other fields. With the development and application of this technology, it is significant to establish an infrared thermography inspection system with characteristics of convenience and intelligence.Aiming at the need of in line field and large inspection area by infrared thermography, this paper designed and established the scanning incentive infrared thermography inspection system both from hardware and software. Common PC was replaced by embedded IPC(Industrial Personal Computer) to adapt to in line field inspection. Based on.NET framework, a software programming by Visual C++ and running on embedded IPC was designed. It has friendly interface and rich functions such as showing infrared image, playing infrared videos, converting video format, recording inspection parameters, triggering excitation source, shooting infrared video and image. It also has automatic triggering and recording function which can be used in scanning inspection mode. System control scheme was optimized. Control of camera and excitation source was integrated. Circuit connecting plate and battery module were designed. Thermography inspection data management platform was also designed. This platform adopts B/S mode and three-tier software architecture. By using ASP.NET, user rights configuration, detected object information management, inspection data uploading and downloading, inspection report and maintenance report type-in and other functions were realized. Inspection experiments of defects on carbon fiber reinforced composite material, fatigue cracks on welding area of steel box girder with U costal and cracks with complex shapes on steel were studied by using scanning incentive infrared thermography inspection system. It proved the practicability of this inspection system. This paper will offer a reasonable reference and practical application value in the design field of convenient and intelligent infrared thermography inspection system.
