Study On Urban Waterfront Landscape Designing Strategies Based On The View Of Elastic Thinking

The problem of water is getting more and more attention under the background of rapid urbanization. Everything is related to water no matter from the phenomenon of enjoying the sight of sea from place to place or the putting forward of the idea of ‘Sponge City' and ‘Eco-city'. As the high-frequency activity area of human, the problem of urban waterfront area is also serious. Therefore,higher requirements for designing urban waterfront landscape are brought forward. This paper adopts the question-oriented idea and thus consists of four parts- raising a question, analyzing a question, solving a question and empirical research. The question is raised in the first part which consists of chapter 2 and the first half part of chapter 3 and in this part, there is a literature review and study on the present problems and conflicts of urban waterfront landscape. The second part is analyzing the question and in this part, the understanding of elastic thinking in designing landscape is stated with the theoretical tool of elastic thinking. The third part is the problem-solving part and some designing strategies of waterfront landscape under the guidance of elastic thinking are summarized by doing research on typical cases in home and abroad and combining the theory of elastic thinking. Empirical research is made in the fourth part and in this part, taking the example of the landscape designing of the north of Lei River, the application of designing strategies with elastic thinking is stated from the perspective of overall design and split plot design.This paper regards the designing of urban waterfront landscape as an entry part and explores the landscape designing strategies under the guidance of elastic thinking by the landscape designing practice of the north of Lei River. This paper believes that elastic thinking is a theory under developing and the research on it should have much space which is of considerable realistic significance to the application of elastic thinking in waterfront landscape designing. In addition, elastic thinking is meaningful for dealing with the worsening ecological environment and realizing regional sustainable development.
