Airport terminals curbside are for passengers getting in and out of the terminals, yet they are becoming the traffic bottleneck due to its particularity. Curbsides layout are changing with the development of civil aviation and the diversification of airport transportation, especially, curbsides are set in ground transportation center to relieve the transportation pressure in terminals curbside. To choose the correct curbside layout and to predict the curbside construction scale scientifically is the key to the success of the landside traffic system construction; to evaluate curbside capacity is the effective way to estimate its construction reasonable or not; to evaluate curbside level of service is a good demonstrating of the passenger's intuitive sense and the efficiency of airport landside; airport rail transit, whose advantages made it strongly welcomed in Asian countries who initiate public transport, has increasing impacts which need to be quantified. However, research in every aspect above is not perfect. Aiming at the above problems, the writer makes detailed studies in curbside layout mode, demand curbside scale and capacity evaluation, level of service evaluation, and the impact from rail transit to the curbside and etc.Firstly, the definition of curbside is extended to subsidiary curbside which are set in the ground transportation center, and then the layout mode of both terminal curbside and subsidiary curbside are analyzed in detail respectively through the study of domestic and foreign large-scale airports; secondly, the demand for terminal curbside is analyzed by summarizing several methods, and then rail transit share ratio forecast model is established to analyze the influence on airport terminals curbside; thirdly, curbside capacity assessment theory is analyzed by establishing curbside capacity evaluation model in single-terminal airport and several-terminals airport respectively; then, terminal curbside level of service is researched by establishing service level evaluation model; finally, the above model was applied to the actual airports respectively according to the field survey data and some advice were given to curbside capacity improvement, results show that the established model is scientific and reasonable. Hope that the proposed approach could provide scientific theory basis to airport planning designers and managers.
