The characteristic analysis of air traffic flow is able to discover the change rule and the relationship between the three basic parameter velocity, density and the flux from a macroscopic view. Based on theoretical analysis, explore the state evolution trend when gathering all the aircraft objects as a whole. The research achievements give the internal reason of the air traffic congestion, aircraft conflict and flight delay.So as to optimize airspace construction, further adjust air traffic flow and improve control quality fundamentally.This paper used the cell transmission model in air traffic flow research. A one-dimensional cell transmission model of air traffic flow in single direction is built at first, at the same time, one-dimensional cell transmission model of air traffic flow,converging air traffic flow and diverging air traffic flow is clarified, and obtained the relationship between the parameter of flux, density and velocity by mathematical derivation. The model is simulated by the use of multi agent simulation modeling platform Netlogo. A classic terminal control area arriving procedure is designed.Clarifying the detailed simulation process in terms of the using method of Netlogo system dynamic simulator, building of the simulation environment, cell divided measure, basic parameter setting, operation rule of the cell and air traffic flow etc.Finally get the basic relationship diagram of parameters which verifying the validity and accuracy of the model.The experimental results also divided air traffic flow into three state: free flow state, congestion flow state and block flow state. Finally,programming the STAR procedures of Beijing Capital International Airport into the Netlogo system dynamic simulator, built the Beijing terminal control area traffic flow cell transmission model. Choose control velocity and control separation as two variables into the sensitive analysis experiment. The sensitive analysis results provided the basis for further air traffic flow predictive. Based on the results of terminal air traffic flow characteristics analyzing, several influence factors of terminaloperating capacity is provided, which making proposals for terminal capacity improving.
