With the development of rapid urbanization, a series of health problems, including urban health problems has become more widespread and prominent. World Health Organization advocated to build the "Healthy City", and hoped to implement urban planning to join in. Based on this background, the greenway network has been building as an international movement, hoping to promote the public outdoor activities and fitness training thus to improve the public health. The construction of greenway network started in 1980 s in our country, the aim of planning and construction greenway network was to promote the public health through to enhance their outdoor activities, does greenway network effectively support transport-related physical activity? This study choose Shenzhen Greenway as a case, to assess the greenway network effects, and discover the influence factors.Shenzhen greenway network as a representative of the domestic, with the development planning and construction, has completed in 2012 and put into use. Based on the existing theoretical research, this paper use the slow-transport related physical activity volunteered geographic information and the data of Shenzhen greenway network to study the usage of it. The paper divided the usage of greenway into three part, the basic usage of greenway, the intensity of greenway usage and the diversity of greenway usage, respectively. The result of the study shows that Shenzhen greenway network does play a vital role in promoting public outdoor for outdoor transport-related physical activity, furthermore, some greenway lines can support a variety of activities; some greenway lines with a higher intensity and diversity in carrying activities. While, the usage of Shenzhen greenway network has some differences, in general, the greenway network usage has an average level in total, some of them with lower usage. Most of regional greenways were out of use, while urban and community greenways were more popular. Acorrding to this result, the paper summarized 11 factors that may effect the usage of greenway based on the theoretical knowledge, then combining these 11 factors and the usage of greenway into the logical analysis to find the main reason of the low usage. The result showed that the built of the greenway and the build environment exist a mismatch phenomenon, the density of greenway did not suit the population density and the street density of the build environment, this phenomenon caused the trend to reducing the chance to serving people. Besides, the result of the liner regression demonstrated that the density of greenway and diversity of greenway showed a positive correlation, indicating greenway network can promote outdoor physical activity, but the layout is critical in the network, the results also showed that the number of service points and the surrounding roads there are also positive correlation between greenway usage, which can be found greenway usage is affected by both the surrounding activity sources and the ability of greenway for supporting activities. In view of this result, the improvement of greenway can build more greenway lines in the area that has high population. City greenways can combine multiple resources surrounding environment, regional greenway focus its ecological benefits. In the future greenway planning and construction built environment factors must be considered more and combine greenway network to service network, to create greenway network that can support outdoor slow-transport related physical activity.
