As a new type of environmental protection material, steel sheet pile have been increasingly recognized and applied in the field of engineering construction. Steel sheet pile has many advantages, such as light weight, high strength, waterproof property, convenient to construct and so on. Due to the special structure and the lock connection mode of the U-shaped steel sheet pile, relative slip can occurs between the piles when it is in the practical work. This leads to actual section bending stiffness and strength of U-shaped steel sheet pile composite wall into the amount of uncertainty, and brought problems in calculation of the displacement and the strength of the supporting structure.This thesis have mainly discussed the influence of friction on bending stiffness and strength of the U-shaped steel sheet wall in which shear force is derived from the friction between the interlocks.This thesis focuses on a symmetrical cycle unit of the U-shaped steel sheet wall. Through the establishment of the static equilibrium equation and the deformation coordination equation of contact surface of the cross section of the wall. This thesis explored the relationship between the bending stiffness of the pile wall, friction effect and the bending stiffness of single piece of steel sheet pile. Then the relationship between the neutral axis movement distance of steel sheet pile and curvature and the relative slippage rate is founded.Through finite element modeling and comparative analysis, the impact of the load and support mode on the bending stiffness is studied. The nonlinear process of distance increases with load is studied. Slippage and its change rate?Curvature and bending stiffness distribution along the pile are found and the formation mechanism of flexural rigidity of U-shaped steel sheet wall get further study and analysis.
