This paper aims to introduce health monitoring of all supporting cables of large cable-supported structures, Tt is based on Suramadu Bridge to set up finite element model (in the following paper, we call it S bridge), based on linear relationship hypothesis we select reasonably the main beam’s strain as monitoring basedata to remove the negative impact of different forms of load, in order to recognize health status of the damaged cables successfully and accurately. The contents of the study in this paper include the following aspects:(1) Firstly, the original model is remeshed to set up the new inite element model to meet loading conditions of different forms of load. Secondly, Several load cases are selected to conside its effect on the recognition of the structural health state.(2) Based on linear relationship hypothesis and multi-objective optimization algorithm, How to use the bridge strain monitoring data as little as possible to recognize the damaged cables under varying degrees of damage and numbers of damage. At the same time remove the negative impact of concentrated load.(3) Based on linear relationship hypothesis and multi-objective optimization algorithm, How to use the bridge strain monitoring data as little as possible to recognize the damaged cables under varying degrees of damage and numbers of damage. At the same time remove the negative impact of distributed load.(4) The paper studies that different forms of load have an effect on recognizing the damaged cable in different load cases, then compare their results. And we find the way to weaken its adverse effects in order to recognize the damaged cable.
