As the highly developed urban transport, countries around the world realized the important of underground transport and the developing prospect of it. Thus, large quantities of underground interchange projects appeared around the world. At present, our country has accumulated some primary experience in the construction of underground, while no systematic theories have formed yet. This essay has done a research into different aspects on capacity of underground interchange, consists of the follow contents:(1)Combined with some theoretical analysis, some investigation has been done. Then some research on the characteristics of the drivers, the cars, the roads and the environment has been carried out. Based on all these mentioned above, this essay analyzed the difference between the underground interchange and the ground roads;(2)After several surveys of the traffic volume and speed, the essay analyzed the distribution character of traffic volume and speed in the main roads, ramps, merging and diverging areas. Then some relational models of the three basic parameters of traffic flow include traffic volume, traffic density and traffic speed has been built;(3)Using Vissim to get on the simulation of the traffic flow in different sections of the underground interchange by setting different traffic parameters meet the characteristics of underground interchange. Get the maximum capacity of different sections which can verify the calculated capacity of the models put forward in the previous chapter;(4)Considering the traffic characteristics of underground interchange, we built a theory capacity model and an actual capacity model based on the relationship of traffic speed and traffic volume. Combined with these two models, the recommended values of the capacity in different sections of the undergro und interchange have been given. Based on the traffic flow character and capacity, this part also made some suggestions on traffic organization design of different sections of underground interchange.
