Cooling tower is widely used in many areas, such as, petroleum, electricity, metallurgy,chemical industry, etc. Cooling tower is divided into various categories. Each kind has its own advantages and disadvantages, which is heated discussed in academic community. Presently,Cooling tower is more energy saving, water saving, environmentally friendly and efficiency with the improving of technological level.Based on open type current-flow cooling tower, the mechanism and damage of white mist is analyzed, dry wet combined cooling tower with the effect of fog dismissing and water saving is introduced. In addition, in order to improve the cooling efficient of cross-flow closed cooling tower, the film sheets are set between the tubes, so that a new type cross-flow closed cooling tower is designed.The mixing process of crossing hot air and upstream wet air in the chamber is studied. ICEM is used to build the physical model and grid, and CFD is used to numerical calculating. Through the optimization of the chamber, a better model is designed to mix the two streams. The result shows that, this structure can realize the purpose of eliminating the fog in the tower's export.Under different of dry-wet ratios, we find the change characteristics of dry-wet ratio with mixing degree and pressure drop with the mixing structure. And according to these change characteristics,the relationship between dry-wet ratio and energy efficiency ratio is obtained, by which a reasonable range is determined.we completed the thermal calculation, structural parameters of film sheet type cooling tower is decided. Moreover, pump and fan were chose with chemical design handbook and related design standards. Finally, based on the structure parameters, the three dimension assembly diagram and parts diagrams were drawn with SolidWorks. The film sheet type cross-flow cooling tower was designed, which provides some references for application.
