As an important pillar of the mechanical industry technology, hydraulic system is widely used in various fields. Hydraulic pump is the power source of the system, the reliability of whole hydraulic system is greatly affected by the hydraulic pump’sperformance. The shaft axial piston pump with high power density, high pressure, large flow, long life and can realize the advantages of integration in order to simplify the hydraulic system. A4 VSO axial piston pump is the excellent representative of the axial piston pump,which bewidely used in various types of fixed equipment in open loop hydraulic system.However, now on the market,the performance of the axial piston pump is monopolized basically by foreign companies,the technology of this type of product bydomestic manufacturers is not so stable and have less production. The HD-VSO250 axial piston pump, which is developed in this paper, is similar in the structure and same on the performance with the rexroth A4VSO250 products. The HD-VSO250 axial piston pump is urgently needed on the market, once developed, will be able to meet the demand of the market, reduce the market price of this product.Firstly, based on the operating principle of HD-VSO250 pump, both the equations of motion with the equations of the flow are set up. We mainly analyzed the key parts of HD-VSO250 axial piston pump, including piston sliding boots pairs, cylinder, oil distribution, return disks,and finish its structure design and stress analysis.On this basis, the three-dimensional modelof the HD-VSO250 axial piston pump is built in Solidworks.Secondly, with the help of finite element analysis software ADINA, the static emulation of key parts in HD-VSO250 axial piston pump is finished, which analyzed their stress distribution and deformation conditions.We finishthe mechanical check of HD-VSO250 axial piston pump.Thirdly, the match flow area model of HD-VSO250 axial piston pump is established. On the basis, the single piston assignment model and the total pistons assignment modelof HD-VSO250 axial piston pumpare built on the multidisciplinary simulation software Simulation X. The flow characteristic of the axial piston pump is obtained by simulation.Finally, we systematically analyse the structure characteristics, processing difficulties and solutions often kinds of main parts in the HD-VSO250 axial piston pump, such as shell, oscillating plate, shaft, cylinder, oil distribution, piston pairs, return disk, globular bowl, valve body and valve element. They provide a powerful guarantee for the design and manufacture of the axial piston pump.After the producing and the assembling,we complete the prototype test of HD-VSO250 axial piston pump.According to the emergent problems in the test process, the getting out phenomenon of thecopper sleevesfrom the cylinder piston holesis specially analyzed and improved. The improved prototype of HD-VSO250 axial piston pump is eligible, which verifies the accuracy of the theoretical analysis and modeling simulation.
