| Bamboo structure installation art is a new type of installation art which emerged in recent years. It uses the ecological material because of the increasing requirement of ecological concern, sustainable development and environmental-friendly design in nowadays society. During the past decades research, Some researches even take "bamboo architecture, bamboo landscape, bamboo sculpture" as well as bamboo pavilions, bamboo bridges in to the scope of bamboo structure installation art. However, these works do not have the features of installation art. This paper focuses on the study of the artistry of bamboo structure installation art works, as well as their relationships with environment and people, based on the theoretical guidance of environmental behavior theory, environmental aesthetics theory, and location theory. The paper seeks to summarize the unique expression approaches of bamboo structure installation art.This paper does a lot of investigations on bamboo structure installation art practice cases, classifies the relevant literatures including bamboo structure designs and bamboo structure process technologies, and analyzes expression approaches of bamboo structure installation art in detail. The contents are shown as follows: The first chapter is introduction in which the historical background, developments, and research of bamboo structure installation art are introduced, and the concept of bamboo structure installation art is defined. The second chapter is the summary of the bamboo structure installation art in which the value and technical difficulties of bamboo structure installation art are summarized, and the significance of studying bamboo structure installation art is indicated. The third chapter is the relationship between bamboo structure installation art and environment in which the interaction relationships among bamboo structure installation art, environment and people are analyzed. The fourth chapter is the study of participant assessment to bamboo structure installation art in which the assessments of people in the form of the questionnaire are collected, to provide the reference for the follow-up study. The fifth chapter is design considerations and principles of the bamboo structure installation art in which the design considerations and principles are summarized. The sixth chapter is the expression approaches of bamboo structure installation art in the environment design. The seventh chapter is case study in which a field research on the Zhejiang Anji bamboo exhibition park is introduced, to explore the field application effects of bamboo structure installation art in the environmental design, and to provide a useful reference for the future research and practice related to the bamboo design. |
