High embankment are characterized by high fillings, huge volume of earthwork, long construction period and large investment. Filling the high embankment with a reasonable rate is very important to shorten the construction period and save investment.With a 3000m-long and 45m-wide runway, 4C flight level, more than 80 m filling height,about 40,000,000m3 earthwork,Weining airport,as the key project of civil aviation "12th Five-Year" program,is a typical high embankment in Karst area.This paper is based on the northwest end of Weining airport high filling body,rheological properties of the fillers were studied,using viscoplastic model,for construction of the different loading rate under the condition of high fill body of post-construction settlement and horizontal displacement are simulated analysis.The main content and conclusions are as follows:Taking the high embankment located in the northwest of Weining airport as an example, the rheological properties of the fillings are tested, the post-construction settlement and horizontal displacement are simulated by numerical method with a visco-plastic model. Main content and some conclusions are as follows:(1) Similar conditions of rheological test are deduced, a physical model is carried on, some rheological parameters are obtained;(2) Engineering geological conditions and filling load conditions in research area are summarized,a numerical rheological model of filling rate is established;(3)The post-construction settlement of high embankment under different filling rate is simulated.Higher filling rate with a larger early settlement,for more load on foundation with earlier settlement.Settlement at the time of completion with low filling rate.Therefor,low filling rate with smaller post-construction settlement.(4)Horizontal displacement of high embankment under different filling rate is also simulated.Lower filling rate with a faster convergence rate between thehorizontal displacement and the history time.With a high filling rate,the upper deformation is greater than the lower.Sometimes,high filling rate will lead to excessive pore-pressure which harmful to the stability of the high embankment.
