A Study On Structural Configuration Design

Structure has become more and more important in architectural design, it can generate distinctive and vivid architectural form and interior space. Therefore, from the perspective of integrating structural system and form, the study on structural configuration is necessary. Based on this viewpoint, this paper takes the project of the golden museum in Jiangsu cultural industry park as an example, focusing on discussing the structural configuration design.This paper is divided into two parts, part one contains the designing documents and drawings of the golden museum in Jiangsu cultural industry park, part two is the study reports of structural configuration. In the second part, the studies on structural configuration are introduced from four aspects as follows. First is the summary of research background, content, significance and methods; second is case studies, related existing works are summarized to propose the strategies of structural configuration, including prototype deduction, structural bionics, the role of force and material and construction. Third is discussion on strategies from aspects of architectural form,space and building skin. At last, the design strategies are used in a practical case design to improve the integration of structure and form.
