In city traffic, the bridge is an important role. And sidewalks will be set up on both sides of a city bridge generally. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the bridge are comparatively heavy. A car passing a bridge can cause vibration of the bridge structure. If the vibration is relatively strong, it will cause panic to pedestrians on both sides. Therefore, it has great practical significance to propose a reasonable pedestrian comfort evaluation method and evaluation index under vehicle-bridge vibration environment.Firstly, the historical vibration comfort standards of each country were summarized in this paper. And pedestrian comfort boundary under vehicle-bridge vibration environment has been drawn. Secondly, combined with the characteristic of vehicle-bridge vibration and the sensitivity to vibration experience of people walking in a state a corresponding frequency weighting function has been presented. Thirdly, on the basis of signal detection theory psychology, the uncertainty of human subjective response to vibration was analyzed. And according to experimental data and centralization statistical method, the annoyance rate analysis model has been set up to describe human subjective response to vibration. Then the annoyance rate curve was calculated and a pedestrian comfort evaluation method has been proposed, which is applied to the environment of vehicle-bridge vibration. Finally, combined with practical engineering background, a bridge model and a vehicle model were built by the ANSYS software, and vehicle-bridge coupling vibration was solved by APDL program language. Then the corresponding vibration acceleration was extracted by writing MATLAB programs, and the comfort evaluation method proposed in this paper was used to evaluate the vibration.Based on the comfort evaluation of a city bridge in Hubei by using comfort evaluation method proposed in this paper, the pedestrian vibration comfort of this bridge does not meet the standards of comfort. According to the calculation results, the factors affecting comfort were analyzed, and the reasonable proposals to improve pedestrian vibration comfort have been put forward from the design, construction and maintenance management.
