In recent years,with the improvement of living standards, the farmers have higher requirements to the living environment. They require not only spacious and bright, fully-functional space, but also required to improve sanitation and indoor lighting and so on. Since China promulgated the "The energy efficiency design standards of rural residential building ",how to improve the rural residential building's indoor thermal environment and the energy efficiency has been more widely appreciated.But these are reflected in the construction of new rural areas, whereas in existing rural residential building's indoor thermal environment has not been widespread concern. This paper is based on the existing rural residential building.Firstly,I have research on the situation ?energy use ?living habit of existing buildings, and perform thermal measurement of the five typical residential. The research found that in the cold weather of winter, the indoor temperature is generally low, which impacted the villagers' living comfortment, and the roofs, exterior walls, windows and doors of envelope are generally lower than the standard limit. In addition, in the main room, The doors are frequently opened, leading to temperature fluctuations, and poor indoor thermal environment.Secondly, in order to improve indoor thermal environment and reduce the active energy consumption under the basic requirements of the specification, several adaptive technology was put forward for the retrofitting of residential buildings in Chongqing, such as thermal insulation of exterior envelope,energy efficiency windows and passive solar house.Lastly,The paper present an energy-saving project of a typical rural residence in Chongqing and design according to the present conditions of the construction which using the passive solar house and Completed in the end. Through before and after the reform of winter comparison of the measured thermal environment parameters, the results show that the indoor temperature increased 1.5 ? and the room temperature increased 1.8 ?, which obviously improves the indoor thermal environment.
