With the rapid development of China's urbanization process, the demand for water resources will continue to grow. However, the leakage phenomenon of urban underground pipeline is serious. Due to the huge water-supply network, leaking point is difficult to be found accurately and in time. And it needs huge human and material resources to locate a single funneled. The research of real-time monitoring and positioning system about advanced and reliable water-supply network will help maintenance people to monitor the operation of the network, determine the funneled quickly and perform maintenance in time. It also has an important significance to restraint the waste of water resource.This paper, according to the characteristics of urban water supply system, aiming at real-time monitoring and positioning of pipe network, designs the pipeline detecting nodes and the online monitoring system. The main research contents are as follows:(1) Based on the basic characteristics of leaking acoustic signal, this system adopted cross correlation localization algorithm to realize leak point positioning, and designed and implemented hardware modules of leaking monitoring nodes for the system. This paper uses single-chip MSP430F247 as the microprocessor for embedded locating node, GPS timing technology to improve the synchronization precision of sensor acquisition, the wireless transmission technology based on the ZigBee to transmit data. Meanwhile it completes low noise and low power consumption design for soft to the monitoring node according to the contradiction between the limited storage space and memory with a large number of data acquisition tasks.(2) This paper designed data processing software of background on-line monitoring system. It calculates the time delay between both sensors which locating on ends of the tubes collecting leak acoustic signal by means of simulation based on the LMS adaptive time delay estimation algorithm. At last the results will be visualized showed in a form of WEBGIS, achieving the real-time monitoring and positioning for urban water supply network.The simulation results show that the design of water supply network real-time monitoring and positioning system has many advantages, such as detecting timely, locating accurately, low power consumption, operating simply, high intelligent degree and so on. The system has higher practical applications. Finally, this paper summarizes the main work and existing problems of this system, and looks forward the research work for future.
