| Double-row piles retaining structure, composed of two parallel rows of reinforced concrete pile, crown beam and tie beam, is a kind of spatial structure system along the length direction of the excavation. As a comparative maturity excavation support system, double row piles is an effective way to control lateral displacement with no anchor or internal bracing, which have been widely used in temporary support of deep excavation and rarely applied in permanent support in recent years. If double row piles could meet the requirements of two limit states and the actual monitoring deformation in accordance with the specification limits, which can also be used as the permanent support.Based on the deep excavation engineering located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, the double row piles is designed as a perpetual retaining structure in slope protection. This article solves some problem about design and construction by the theoretical analysis of two common models and the FEM calculation, and then discusses the available areas and application value as a permanent support structure. Double-row piles and low pile retaining wall structure are compared on the site conditions, construction, cost, schedule and other factors. The structure with double-row piles adopted as the permanent supporting structure has good safety and economy.By comparison, it is shown that two kinds of calculation model has different scopes of application and certain complementarity. The double-row piles retaining structure applied on this project under the requirement of two limit states, has been completed and has been completed and safely production for 3 years. |
