Application Strategies Of The Architecture Installations In Existing Buildings Adaption

The development of society and technology brings us rapid flow of information and material, meanwhile, our daily life is full of transformation and alternation. So does architecture, which in order to meet the requirement of people. The development and renewal of our cities cause the transformation of buildings' function. So, nowadays, the renovation of existing buildings and surrounding environment has become hot topic of current urban construction. As a consequence, architects must possesses the ability to deal with the specialty and complexity of renovation task. It will be a new field for talented architects to use their intelligence to explore new design concepts and manners. Along with popularity of mass culture and rise of the city's big events, the Architecture installations are increasingly familiar with and accepted by the public. As a transboundary product of architecture and art, Architecture installations have distinctive characteristics, which are quite different from traditional buildings. Because of their flexible and light structure, easy assembly method and attractive interactivity, they could effectively enhance space quality of the built environment.Based on the integration of architecture installations and existing buildings renovation, this thesis will focus on strategies of how to apply architecture installations into existing buildings and their surrounding environment. Starting from the definition and characteristics of architecture installations, the thesis tries to illustrate the necessity and feasibility of applying architecture installations to building renovation. In combination with a large number of instances, I have made specific and detailed analysis about design strategies and building technology application mode. As a new kinds of design method and thinking direction, architecture installations could effectively improve the space quality of buildings and environment, when they are applied to transform existing buildings and external environment, and meanwhile, they will consummate function and bring about new vitality. More important, this application will generate Urban Catalysts effect which has positive meaning at the city level.
