AGVS is one of the most important technology in the intelligent manufacturing systems. The background of the research is logistics transform of an medical instrument company. So the AGVS was studied in many aspects. The main work of the paper is as follows:Firstly, the key device of the system, such as AGV and AGV calling device, was studied and designed in detailed. An AGV, which is able to load and unload light-weight materials automatically, is presented in the paper. The structure and control system is well designed, so that the AGV could be competent at the work. Meanwhile, the editable map was designed, which is quite convenient for inspection of AGV. In addition, an Android device is introduced in the system to solve the problem that the calling of AGV is scattered and hard to centralize.Secondly, the scheduling software on the server side was developed. The management of material transportation is basics of the system. Both the server and Android device is capable of building new mission of material transportation. Transportation data and warehouse data storage is necessary to the system so that the database is developed under Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Besides, the way by means of A* and time-window algorithm is presented, to solve the problem of route conflict under multi-AGV circumstance.Finally, the function of the system is fully tested. The simulation of material transportation is well accomplished including warehouse-in and out transportation and the transfer of materials in different station. The result shows that the system reach the expected objective, stability.
