In the last few decades, there have been a series of collapse accidents of the structure in the world. Progressive collapse is that the local damage of structure due to the impact of the accidental load results in a large range of local collapse or the overall collapse of the structure. So many historical lessons reflect the structural system defects or hidden dangers in resistance to the continuous collapse.Reasonable structure design, so that the progressive collapse or the overall collapse will not happen in the case of accidental load, has become a problem that the world's structural engineers need to face up to.Nowadays, using innovative technology to realize the sustainable development of low carbon economy has been vigorously promoted. Modular construction, which has been transformed from recyclable containers, has gradually become a new favorite in the field of energy saving construction in foreign countries. It is used as a residential and office use. In this paper, the analysis of the resistance to progressive collapse of the container modular construction is mainly divided into four parts:(1) In this paper, the combination of container modules is introduced, and the structural failure and collapse mode of the structure under different combinations are discussed. The calculation formula of the container to consider the level of the container side plate with lateral stiffness is derived. At the same time, this paper also introduces the connection form between the corners of the container module, besides, the influence of two kinds of connection forms on the mechanical properties of the joint is analyzed. Finally, the hinge connection form is selected to analyze the performance of the collapse resistance of structure.(2) Secondly, the theoretical analysis and the overall structure design of a single box with 3 layers of typical structures are analyzed in this paper. Reference to the proposal of the alternate path method in the design code for anti-progressive collapse at home and abroad,8 types of initial failure modes that can occur under various accidental loads are identified. Using SAP2000 finite element analysis software to analyze the whole structure of linear elastic analysis and according to the corresponding elastic stage failure criterion, the performance of the structure is evaluated. The average collapse index is proposed as an evaluation basis to compare the strength of collapse resistance of structures under different components removed.(3) In addition, the whole structure is analyzed of by useing the orthogonal test method to combine the influence parameters such as the span, the number of failure elements, the seismic intensity, the basic wind pressure and so on. The influence of different parameters on the performance of the structure is analyzed, and the relevant design suggestions are put forward based on the influence.(4) At last, the S AP2000 software is used to analyze the vertical pushdown nonlinear analysis of the same structure in 8 kinds of initial failure modes. The residual bearing capacity of structure under different failure modes is obtained, the failure sequence and the final collapse mode of the structure after failure of different parts are also determined, and the design suggestions are given according to the final failure mode of the structure. In the end, the paper briefly evaluates the progressive collapse resistance of the modular construction of containers.
