Nowadays, the thermal power enterprises maximize economic benefits for the goal following electricity market reform. The coal consumption is the maximum cost for the plant operation. Whereas the load distribution of thermal and electric power has a direct impact on the coal consumption for a regional power plant. So studying the load optimal allocation of regional power plants has significant meaning for improving the enterprise economic benefits.Taking the 10 units of 4 power plants A, B, C, and D in the same region as objects of study, the coal consumption characteristic curves were plotted according to the thermal experiment data, and the influences were calculated on coal consumption rate by parameters variation including main steam pressure, main steam temperature, reheat steam temperature, condenser vacuum, feedwater temperature, attempt rating water flow, exhaust gas temperature and oxygen content of exhaust gas. And on this basis, the coal consumption characteristic equation, the cost equation and the objective function of load distribution for thermal and electric power of regional power plants were established. The optimal load distribution system for regional power plants was developed based on computer programming language. The optimal thermal loads and electric power loads of the 4 power plants were calculated with given total load. The coal consumption can be effectively reduced and the enterprise economic benefits can be obviously improve by optimizing the load distribution of regional power plants.
