As the part of the backbone network, the transformers’ operation is significant to the power system. To make the power system be more safe and reliable, we need to evaluate the operation of the transformers. The transformers’ condition of vibration are closely related to the core and windings, so it is necessary to design a capture card to monitor the transformers’ vibration, and assess its health. The details are as follows:(1)Design the hardware circuit. During the vibration test of power transformer, we have so many vibration point to measure, so the acquisition card need to meet the requirements of multi-channel and synchronous sampling. Due to the low amplitude, high frequency, we need to use the FPGA for high precision and sampling rate of these signals’ acquisition; And there are serious electromagnetic interference around the power transformer, so it is particularly important to use low noise devices, reduce noise and weaken the interference.(2)Program the instrument’s software and driver. Because of the large amounts of Vibration data and the requirement of synchronization, we choose PXI bus. PXI bus has high data bandwidth, and also provides the synchronous bus. It can solve the problem of synchronization between collection card. The acquisition card collects the vibration signal and transfer form of PXI agreement to the industrial computer, then the industrial computer driver is responsible for reading data from acquisition card.(3)Verify the authenticity of the data and extract the vibration signal characteristic parameters. Analyse and judge the operation condition of transformer.
