The Design And Application Of Variable Pitch Control System Of Wind Turbine

With the benefits of improved power capture efficiency and power quality, as well as the flexibility for load mitigation, power control via pitch regulation has been widely used in modern wind turbines. With increasing of power rating and rotor diameter of commercial units, high performance pitch system is becoming an important factor affecting the power performance and safety of the turbines. In practical applications, however, the tracking performance of pitch systems may be degradated due to the presence of parametric uncertainties, extern disturbance and complex nonlinearity. Consequently, new robust control design of the pitch system and its realization has received more attention than ever.A comprehensive survey on the research status, application and existent deficiencies of pitch systems is given, operating principle and power control methods of wind turbines are also summarized. The ECSxA pitch inverter is chosen as the contro ller, and the non-linear PID is chosen as the core control algorithm, a novel pitch control system of MW wind turbine is designed. Through the software and hardware design, the electrical control of pitch control system can be realized, and has obtained good control effect in the practical application. Moreover, it can achieve the independent-development of the MW wind turbine pitch control system. The variable pitch control system with independent research and development of 1.65 MW VSCF wind turbine contro l system and converter system supporting long term field tests.To achieve a fast, smooth speed wind turbine, the output power curve is more stable, and effectively improve the unit performance of maximum wind energy capture.
