Filtration material is often set in downstream slope of earth-rock dam to ensure water flow out from dam, at the same time block soil particles was taken away by water, so as to reduce the destruction that water pressure to seepage exit, and can also be used to prevent occurring the phenomenon as piping and flow soil.The traditional filtration layer in dam is often made by 2 ~ 4 layers different size of materials such as sand, gravel and pebbles, along the flow direction from fine to coarse. This kind of filtration layer needs a lot of sieve analyses, construction is complicated, and material source is limited. Nowadays geotextile filtration material is commonly used, although reducing the application of sand and gravel materials, but arising problems such as easy aging and poor prevent siltation.After filter siltation,may cause exports stuck, make the pressure in dam grow and serious to seepage damage.Moreover, the loose gravel materials are easily sliding and instability under the effect of external force, finally caused composite filtration layer as geotextiles,sand and gravel material is hard to ensure a long-term stability, but a potential security liability and increase engineering maintenance.This study based on the principle and design requirements of filtration material,use agricultural and industrial by-product or products as main raw material to develop a new compound ecological filtration material. It is not only can get a new compound ecological filtration material with lightweight and good filtration, but also can reduce the environmental pollution caused by agricultural and industrial by-products,finally improve the efficient of using resources.The test studied the design, preparation methods and properties of complex ecological filtration material, and analyzed the factors that affect performance.Research shows that: The chaff layer with water cement ratio is 0.4, aggregate cement ratio is 0.3; The ceramsite layer with water cement ratio is 0.4, aggregate cement ratio is 3 are made for two layers of compound filtration layer. All performances measured is in good condition, respectively: The strength of the chaff layer is 0.26 MPa, thestrength of the ceramsite layer is 0.10 MPa; The composite filtration layer of soil conservation is 95.8%, and 70% are under 80 microns particles; Permeability is 9.45cm/s; Siltation volume is only1.6%. It has set in Furong dam which at Pengze county in jiangxi province, in the future, we will continue further study in application research.
