The transportation of container has become an important part of logistics industry, and the container is the carrier of goods storage. In the process of cargo handling and transportation, containers need to bear the role of a variety of external forces. It has long been a topic of the current design personnel that how to ensure the safety container in the cargo handling and transportation, improve the efficiency of the manufacturing process and at the same time save costs for the enterprises.Containers need to meet the demand of a certain strength and stiffness. Otherwise, container damaging could happen in the process of loading and unloading of goods, transport of goods, which can lead to loss of or damage to the goods, causing great economic losses. To ensure the safety of the container, there is a series of testing for a sample container after the completion of the design in the traditional container designing process. Only if the sample container pass the series of tests, mass manufacturing is allowed. Otherwise we need to carry on the redesign and make certain improvement, and build up a new sample container, until it meet all the requirements. As there are problems of long designing circle and high designing cost, we put forward a new designing idea in this paper. Firstly, we build a 3D model for a certain container. And according to the working environment of a container may encounter we use the finite element analysis software ANSYS to simulate the test-bed experiment, to verify the rationality, safety, and economy of the design. According to the analysis of the original design scheme, we can identify the surplus and deficiency of strength and stiffness in certain component parts. Then we come up with solutions of optimizing. Then use ANSYS to analyze the new optimized design scheme until it pass the series of testing. As a result, the new scheme meets the requirements of safety, rationality and economy, so as to shorten the designing circle, save designing costs, improve safety and saving the manufacturing cost of the containers. Then we come to the conclusion that using the finite element analysis software to make simulation in the design stage is suitable for container manufacturing. In this paper, the application of ANSYS is a certain reference when analyze other containers.
