Hoisting reducer is the key component of the truck crane in the construction machinery trade. Because of the specialty of this trade, the users have a high request for the reducer's reliability. Meanwhile, as the weight of the large-tonnage truck crane is strictly restricted, the weight of each component of the gearbox is accurately controlled. And at the same time, weight is one important influencing factor of the manufacturing cost of the reducer. Above all, the in-depth study in the hoisting reducer is significant. This paper makes in-depth study in the hoisting gearbox of the 180 tons large-tonnage truck crane, and provides comprehensive theoretical foundation for manufacture through prototype manufacture and contrast test.Firstly, in this paper, the author makes research on the structure design of the differential structure of the 180 tons hoisting reducer, and makes an overall explanation of the design in several aspect, including the principle of gear transmission, the calculation of the transmission design and the bearings design, the calculation of the friction disk brake and the dynamic seals.Secondly, this paper concentrates on the finite element analysis (FEA) of the planet carrier structure and on the precise analysis of the dimensional adjustment between gear strength, gear rim thickness and pin size which makes the strength of these three parts more balanced between each other and improves the utilization rate of the material as well as the transmission performance based on the condition of weight optimization. This promotes to break the long-time monopoly of the imported branded manufacturers in the field of heavy hoisting reducer.Finally, this project completes the prototype manufacture of the 180 tons hoisting reducer and conducts the tests on this prototype and an imported branded product as well. The results indicate that the efficiency, vibration level and temperature performance of this prototype satisfy the rating operation requirements. Also, this prototype provides the higher overall strength and more balanced structure stiffness and with 7.5% lighter weight. This provides a very solid support on the batch production, which also demonstrates that the project achieves its anticipated results.
