The geographical environment of transmission line is more unique, coupled with the complex and changeable climatic factors, the traditional manual inspection method is confronted with many challenges. In recent years, with multi-rotor aircraft as the carrier, equipped with imaging device to photograph the transmission line, then use image processing techniques for fault diagnosis has aroused widespread concern.This paper in view of the topic, focused on the detection of power line and insulator burst loss in aerial image as well as the trace detection method of insulator string in aerial video.In the process of power line detection, an improved Canny operator was used to extract the edge of power line; In view of the characteristics of tower perform as multiple edge and corner intensive region in the image, a background removal method based on the corner clustering was used to eliminate the influence of tower area of power line detection; On this basis, a Hough transform method based on gradient phase group was proposed to realize the accurate detection of power line.In the process of insulator detection, the a channel information and b channel information of image was used to combined with 2D maximum between-cluster variance algorithm to extract the contour of insulator; For non occluded insulator, the burst loss detection was realized through the method of counting the number of insulators; In view of the aerial perspective restricts the detection result, a Camshift tracking algorithm based on Kalman motion was proposed to realize the tracking and detection of insulator strings in aerial video.On the basis of algorithms research, this paper design a software platform for transmission line inspection through the use of Qt development environment and OpenCV library, the platform encapsulates the algorithms proposed in this paper,improves the efficiency of inspection work through the convenient man-machine interactive interface.The image processing techniques was applied to the transmission line inspection in this paper, enrich the techniques of non-contact inspection, the software platform has a certain applicable value, provides a good pre-research foundation for the nextstep to realize the image detection of many kinds of power equipment.
