In recent years, the investment of infrastructure in our country is greatly strengthened, especially for the construction of transportation facilities, such as the high-speed railways. Along with the increasingly development of concrete filled steel tubular technology, all kinds of concrete filled steel tube arch bridge have been widely applied in national infrastructure traffic construction due to its light weight, beautiful shape and some other characteristics. Also, the development of arch bridge is thanks to the growth of China's economy and the needs of people's living. Therefore, the study on the arch bridge is particularly important.The paper takes a certain CFST tie-bar arch bridge as the research object. Based on the finite element model established by using of Midas/Civil, the actual construction steps have been simulated. During the process of construction, the Bridge Alignment and Suspender Force are always in the field control; and also it has made some research on the stability, including calculation method and the theory of finite element analysis, calculation of stability and analysis on the influencing factors of the stability. The paper makes an analysis mainly from the following four aspects:i. The paper introduces some theoretical concepts and current developing situation of CFST and CFST arch bridge. At the same time, the theory of construction control and stability are briefly described.ii. This paper has made some summary and analysis about calculation theory of construction control of CFST arch bridge, through the finite element model established by Midas/Civil software, it has simulated the process of filling concrete in the arch rid and tension suspenders, finished the work of linear and cable force monitoring. Finally completed the monitoring of the whole bridge, all the results have reached the expected target, and met the design requirements.iii. It discusses the stability theory of the CFST arch bridge systematically, including the solution method of the stability, the criterion of instability and the finite element analysis of two kinds of stability problems;iv. On the basis of the existing theory, the paper takes The Cross Shugang highway 64 meters CFST arch bridge as the research object. By means of the finite element model, the paper has completed linear and nonlinear stability analysis, and the factors influencing the stability of arch bridge are discussed. Eventually some useful conclusions are drawn, which has certain guidance and reference significance to the design and construction of similar type bridge.
