Intelligent substation is an important part of building a strong smart grid,which is responsible for adjusting the voltage, distributing the electric energy, controlling the current trend, and so on.At present,intelligent substation use Ethernet as the communication network.The uncertainty of Ethernet delay has a great impact on the real-time of packet transmission.On the other hand,the network form of current intelligent substation process layer is single group networking which has caused large network complexity, each adding a new application, protocol, device, will increase the complexity of the network, making the network difficult to maintain.For these two issues,this paper proposes use SDN to intelligent substation communication network to improve real-time performance of network packet transmission,simplify the network structure,improve the overall performance of the network,to better adapt to the development requirements of intelligent substation communication networkAt first, this paper studies current situation of intelligent substation communication network.Based on the current issues in the intelligent substation communication network,this paper proposes put SDN to intelligent substation communication network.Then the paper introduces the technology of SDN based on OpenFlow, and analyzes the feasibility.Based on the relevant theories and the core idea of SDN,we change the traditional switches to support OpenFlow protocol switches.In the SDN controller, the relevant configuration is defined,and the flow table format and flow table matching process are defined to achieve intelligent substation communication network data packet forwarding.This paper also put forwarding using multiple controllers under the new network protocol to achieve the scalability of intelligent substation communication network.Finally, based on the Linux system to build SDN simulation platform,establish the network topology by Mininet,use Floodlight controller to complete centralized control,and use the network analysis tool Wireshark to capture the data packets.At last,the experimental data were analyzed in order to verity the availability of the agreement and ensure the real-time and robustness of intelligent substation communication network.
